Happy Thursday, all. We’re almost through the hellhole that’s been off masquerading as the first full week of 2015, so let’s celebrate with something considerably less frustrating. Like a #tbt post.

Anyway, is it just me, or does it feel like we’ve got a higher-than average number of classic albums hitting the quarter-century mark this year? Rust in PeaceCause of DeathHammerheartLeft Hand Path…that’s just a few of ’em. And today, we’ve got…probably the first?…of these major birthdays to celebrate, in GWAR‘s Scumdogs of the Universe–the second and probably best album in the band’s illustrious discography.

I don’t know that I can say anything about this thing that hasn’t already been said—the songs really speaks for themselves. So for our happy birthday wish, I’m going to let them do just that. Let’s take a listen back to the mid-album highlight and live-show favorite, “Vlad the Impaler”:

Not very often you hear Norman Mailer’s name come up in crossover thrash. But hey, this is why we love GWAR as much as we do. Happy 25th, Scumdogs, and happy #tbt to you folks. That’ll do it for now, but check back later on for today’s Quickies!
