What a week it’s been. Time to wrap things up the way we always do—with Quickies. Let’s have a look at what we missed in the metal world today, shall we?
- Not sure how this wasn’t covered in Quickies before now, but since it hasn’t been…LOOK GUYS, RELAPSE IS GIVING AWAY 180-SOMETHING SONGS FROM ITS BACK CATALOG FOR FREE.
- Apparently a band called Without Mother Fucking Order (yes, really) tried to crowd-fund a “death machine” to kill their own drummer. Desperate for attention much, guys?
- Almost four years after the release of Omnivium, it looks like Obscura will FINALLY be returning to the studio this spring to record a follow-up. About gat-dang time.
- Hey guys, look—Voivod‘s doin’ stuff! What kinda stuff? Apparently, splits with At the Gates, Napalm Death and a new album-kinda stuff!
- Looking for some new tune-age to start your weekend? Well, you’re in luck—Melechesh have released a full stream of their new album, Enki. You can bet we’ll be covering this one at some point.
- And finally, Metallica put out a video of their performance at a surprise Salesforce.com party last week. Yep, this is how short we are on decent videos this week. Have a look:
To their credit, “Welcome Home” (scroll to about 8:20) didn’t sound half-bad. But still…Metallica playing a Salesforce party is all the lols. Anyway, time to go do weekend things. And by “weekend things,” I mean “more Horns Up planning.” Oh well. See y’all next Monday!
Keep it heavy,
-Dan
