The start of one of a few consecutive short work weeks. I’ll take it, I guess.

  • Sprain announced a new album for the The Flenser, titled The Lamb As Effigy or Three Hundred And Fifty XOXOXOS For A Spark Union With My Darling Divine. That will be out on September 1, and you can give “Man Proposes, God Disposes” a listen here.
  • Next up, a 9C favorite in Alkaloid. After five years, they’re back with their third full-length, Numen. That one will be out on September 15 through Season of Mist. To get a sense of the chaos that lies ahead, give the video for “Clusterfuck” a watch here.
  • The return of another big name… Baroness. Also set for a September 15 release, Stone will be out through Abraxan Hymns. The video for “Last Word” is available here. Simultaneously, they also announced a North American tour where they’ll be supported by a ton of awesome bands. Here’s that schedule.
  • I was a fan of the last Godthrymm effort, 2020’s Reflections, so here’s one I have my eye on. Their next full-length, Distortions, will be out on August 18 through Profound Lore. Stream “Echoes” here.
  • Closing out, the latest clip from Kvelertak. Check out the lyric video for “Skoggangr” below. That one is taken from Endling, which drops on September 8 through Rise Records and Petroleum Records. Pre-order it here.
