playlist - mixtape

The 385th edition of the Nine Circles Playlist is finally getting over a serious chest cold and a week of self-imposed Japanese psychedelic garage/noise rock (seriously, Les Rallizes Dénudés are legends and you should go listen to ’77 Live immediately), and just in time it seems because we (we’re referring to ourselves in the collective, now) cannot stop listening to the new to us/old to them Cadaver release. Throw in some new Dirty Nil, some old Gurt, and a smattering of righteous progressive rock courtesy of Brass Camel and it’s helping to get some distance from what feels like a very bland, by the number Ghost release, sadly.

The rest of the 9C staff have been frolicking all over the park, digging in the sandbox and finding nuggets from the likes of new Planning for Burial and Bronson Arm while unearthing classics from Katatonia (RIP because that new single is a hard “meh”), Silver Mt. Zion and even some Robert Johnson. There’s also plenty more brutality between the seams to keep you busy this weekend.

Get listening. Stay safe. See you next week.

Chris
