I sure could use some time in the woods this weekend.

• A sad note to open with tonight. William Brent Hinds, co-founder and former guitarist of Mastodon, died last night in a motorcycle crash in Atlanta. I… don’t know what to say. Here’s the full story. Our thoughts are with all those that were close to him. RIP.
• I’ll do my best to pick some inbox items from here. Der Weg einer Freiheit, obviously one of my favorites, dropped the new single “Marter”. It’s awesome, of course. As a reminder, their fifth album, Innern, is out on September 12th through Season of Mist.
• This sounds different. Chinese Mongolian progressive metal outfit Nine Treasures are releasing Seeking The Absolute on October 24th through Metal Blade Records. Check out the video for “Real Dream” here.
• A tour. Necrot announced a few September headlining dates before they hit the road in support of Carcass through October 1st. The full schedule can be seen here.
• And to close out we have the big announcement from Testament. Para Bellum, their new album, will drop on October 10th through Nuclear Blast. The video for “Infanticide A.I.” is below.
