Super quick Profile to hammer out for all your fine folks today. Last month Spanish-based heavy psychedelic power trio Green Desert Water dropped their latest album, Eerie Meadows, and today we’re giving you the chance to catch up on it if you missed it previously. The responses are brief, but make no mistake that their third Small Stone Records album offers plenty to explore and is well worth your time. Besides, this certainly isn’t the first Small Stone release we’ve hyped up. That label has been on quite the run around these parts and this is no exception. So go give it a listen… right now!

How and when did you first get into playing music, or metal more specifically, and how did your band get its start? Any pushback from family/those close to you?
We started, I suppose, like many other bands, trying to play and sound like the bands we love.
How would you describe your band and what you play to someone who is completely in the dark?
Heavy blues, psych and weighted riffery.
Is there anything about your latest album or about your band that no one will find in any interview or review that you care to divulge?
Everything is clear, we have nothing to hide.
Any funny stories from playing shows / tours / festivals, etc?
Of course, but they can’t be told publicly hahaha
What do you see as some of the great things happening in and around the metal scene (yours or just in general) and what are some of the worst things happening right now?
The best thing is that we get attention from a lot of bands thanks to the internet and the worst thing is that is difficult to stand out over so much information. Its also complicated to earn money for the underground bands.
Most folks have passions for a cause or causes that are close to them. What, if any, are some of the most important issues (social/political/humorous/etc.) for you / your band and how do you insert those issues into your music?
We are inspired by nature and the force it generates.
Do you guys have day jobs or hobbies you want to share?
Thank God we have other jobs besides music, because rock and roll doesn’t even pay for our drinks hahaha
What advice do you have for music critics and outlets out there? How can we all better serve the genre in the eyes of a hard-working musician?
Keep doing your thing like this, it’s fundamental.
Any specific long term goal(s) in mind?
Keep enjoying what we do.
When you’re not obsessing over your own material, what are some of your favorite albums to listen to currently?
Allman Brothers, The Electric Buffalo, Mountain…
What is the near future outlook for you or your band? Any specific events on the horizon that the masses should be aware of?
We are working on it… everything will be published in our social media profiles!
Summarize your band in one word.
Mahou.
