You’d think this deep in my decades long journey that nothing would surprise me. However, enter the new Altarage that crept up and did exactly that. Simply put, there’s just nothing like the experience of hearing Cogwheel. Its death metal is adventurous and furious without being weird and tiring, its atmosphere is more oppressive and sickening than the humidity of summers in the deep south, and its moods revolve around some of the most hateful industrial noise you’re likely to find. It…has my full attention, let’s just stop there, for now. Next up is some wicked jams from Nothingness which just because I’m not giving as much page space to doesn’t mean anyone should miss it. In odd ways this particular outing from them reminds me of the Morrisound wonder years. So yea, get this one too while you’re at it.
