I ran 21 miles yesterday and let me tell you… it sucked. Alas, only another 10 miles to go. Alright now what does the inbox have for me on this early evening in Boston?

• I need a kick in the ass right now so we’ll start with a dose of thrash. Virginia’s Vigil have set October 30th as the release date for their debut album Primordial Rites. That’s going to be a Shadow Kingdom drop and “Nocturnal Hunger” can be heard through Bandcamp.
• Being in a black metal mood all day, let’s grab a couple from that genre. First, Pennsylvania trio Dumal are releasing The Trials of Existence on October 2nd through Alte Seelen and two new tracks, “Ivyland” and “Rendered Impotent by Glass”, are also available through Bandcamp.
• And then we have Norwegian crew Urarv and the new material from their upcoming third album. Nychta Psychis is out on October 16th through Darkness Shall Rise and you can hear the new track “Dødheimsgard” now.
• Moving on to death metal. Gorgatron have inked a deal with Time To Kill Records to release their fifth album, Turmoil. A specific release date is still to come, but we can keep eyes out for that in the months ahead.
• And to close out we have a new video from Falling In Reverse for “Joseph”. That’s a big one, considering it’s both their first new track in over a year and it features both Corey Taylor and Serj Tankian.
