That time of day again, folks–time for a Quickie and to slip out before you’re even done putting your clothes back on. Or not. Here’s what we missed today:

• Mikael Akerfeldt’s been pretty adamant about Opeth not turning back from its sonic evolution. But then he told Metal Hammer that if they ever did go back to their roots, it would only be for “pure death metal with blast beats and shit.”
• All aboard the Megadeth psycho train! Now, former drummer Nick Menza is claiming he recently saw a UFO in his front yard.
• Shitty news for Mr. Big drummer Pat Torpey–the longtime skinsman has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Best wishes to Pat, and hope he keeps going as long as he can.
• Red Fang have released a new acoustic EP. I honestly don’t know much about Red Fang, but I know a lot about free–namely, that it’s always good.
• And finally, Asking Alexandria covered Duran Duran’s “Hungry Like the Wolf” with J-Devil himself–Jonathan Davis of KoRn. I don’t really want to encourage you to check it out, but if you’re so inclined:

Welp, that’s five minutes of my life I’ll never get back. Honestly, the only reason I included it was because there were literally zero other videos of consequence today. Anyway, that’ll do it for Quickies. Check back tomorrow and keep it heavy!
