Bit late on this, but hey–these things happen when piece of shit work computer is a piece of shit. Regardless, it’s new release Tuesday–and it’s now so late in the year that there’s nothing coming out this week that we really want to talk about! (Or can talk about, for that matter–Spotify seems to have gone into hibernation mode as far as metal is concerned.)
Anyway, Corey and I have decided that the week of December 15-19 will serve as Horns Up’s inaugural “Year-End List Week”–where we’ll take a break from our usual daily blog content and instead recap our 25 favorite metal albums of 2014–five a day, each. Until then, we’re going to use Just the Tip (and thus, the usual New Releases section of the podcast as well) to revisit some albums we loved from earlier this year and give you all a bit of a preview of our year-end lists in the process. Two birds, one stone.
All that said, here’s what we’ll be looking back on this week:
- COREY:
Allegaeon – Elements of the Infinite
—
Insomnium – Shadows of the Dying Sun
—
Arkona – Yav
—
- DAN:
Pallbearer – Foundations of Burden
—
Misery Index – The Killing Gods
—
Steel Panther – All You Can Eat
—
No photos because, again, shitty computer, shitty network, people clogging said shitty network with their shitty Cyber Monday consumerist bullshit…the whole world’s just a giant Number 2 right now. Also, it’s raining. In any case, you’ll probably have already listened to all of these, but why not go back and revisit them with us? We’ll be talking about them at greater length in Episode 31, so don’t miss out!
-Dan
