Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from over the weekend:

• • As per usual, a whole bunch of bands dropped new albums on Friday, including John Frum and Wormwitch. Peep Josh’s recap for a more complete list!

• • More information has emerged on why human garbage pile Bobby Liebling has been absent from Pentagram‘s recent live dates: turns out he was arrested for first-degree assault of a vulnerable family member. Fuck this dude forever.

• • So, The Faceless, am I right? First, the band’s Australian touring agency publicly (and deservedly) threw them under the bus for inexplicably not showing up for their scheduled dates. Then, their manager (also publicly, also deservedly) dropped them. I guess this sucks if you care about the band, but this gif just about sums up my thoughts.

• • Because Nuclear Blast will never, ever have enough legacy acts on its roster, they’ve signed Possessed, who’ll be releasing their first album in 32 years via the label next year. This one’s not gonna be overhyped at all, no sir.

• • Guys, I don’t think Shagrath actually knows what the new Dimmu Borgir album sounds like. In a new interview with Antihero magazine, he says the band’s new material “has a lot of symphonic elements” but is also “more primitive, more black metal.” In related news, it is currently dark outside, but also light!

• • Hey, we’re all into Origin, right? Well, good news: the band’s new album, Unparalleled Universe will be out on July 30.

• • In case anyone needs a good laugh, the guys in Steel Panther were panelists on Comedy Central’s @Midnight last week, so what the hell are you doing? Stop reading this and go watch that.

• And finally, here’s a lyric video for the new Suffocation song, “Return to the Abyss.” (Spoiler alert: it’s pretty dope.)

The band’s new album, …Of the Dark Light, drops June 9 via — surprise! — Nuclear Blast. Anyway, that’ll do it for now — check back this time tomorrow for our next edition!
