Twin Earth Records has announced they will be releasing the vinyl edition of NY’s psychedelic doom/stoner/fuzz band Heavy Traffic‘s Plastic Surgery later this week. To get you in the mood to cough up the clams for this edition, we are pleased to feature a stream of album opener “Rule of Nines” which meanders in and out of slow burn fuzz and drop tuned doom metal. It’s definitely a mesmerizing track that shies away from the typical tropes of psych and fuzz so keep reading to hear for yourself.
There’s little doubt the amalgamation of styles Heavy Traffic covers in their music will appeal to a broad spectrum of rock and metal fans alike. Plus the fact that it’s not your typical stoner metal sets it apart as well. Rock, doom, fuzz and those echo chamber vocals are just a few of the many things you’ll find to latch onto. Have a listen to “Rule of Nines” immediately below then find the links to preorder yourself a copy on vinyl.
Plastic Surgery was recorded live to tape early 2016 in Upstate NY and was mixed and mastered at the band’s rehearsal space in Bushwick. The band released five albums over the course of just a couple years but Plastic Surgery finds them with their best work to date. Visit Twin Earth Records to preorder either a limited white/green variant or black edition, both 140g. For more information on Heavy Traffic visit their official website.
