There was just too much going on toward the end of 2018, but the Nine Circles gang is 100% committed to bringing you the best in audio content this year…or least consistent audio this year: I don’t want to promise the farm one episode in! But back we are with another edition of our Album of the Month series kicking things off with the full-length debut Dreaming in a Dead Language from North Carolina black metal outfit Mo’ynoq.
You can read the full review of Dreaming in a Dead Language here, but in the meantime knuckle down and enjoy as Vincent and Hera pilot the ship without a net, which is a weird mix of metaphors but it’s a weird (and wonderful) episode. Hera drops a knowledge bomb on the origin of the band’s name, Vincent talks about how the album doesn’t fit the confines of what you may have heard about it, and how it works better and better on repeated listens. There’s some disagreements, good natured ribbing, and way too much talk about Evergrey.
In other words, it’s a typical Nine Circles Audio Thing.
So jump on in and enjoy the tomfoolery. Better yet, head on over to Bandcamp and show your support to Mo’ynoq – it’s a killer album and a great start to the year.
