I’m desperately trying to finish my 2024 EOY post, and yet I’ve been stuck on 1914 all day. Trials and tribulations, my friends.

• Whitechapel are releasing their next full-length on March 7th through Metal Blade, titled Hymns In Dissonance. For a teaser, a video for the title track can be seen here. As is often the case, Whitechapel is a band I grew to appreciate after seeing them live. So, let’s fucking go!
• Going in a different direction, Christian Mistress are back with a new album on March 7th (in North America). Children of the Earth will be out through Cruz Del Sur Music and a video for “Mythmaker” is available now.
• Out of Prosthetic Records, Brat released a cover of Heart’s “Barracuda”, a video of which can be seen here. That comes a year following their debut album, Social Grace, and ahead of an extensive European tour kicking off in a couple weeks.
• If you’re looking for some bestial metal, the debut album from Genocidal Rites arrives on March 14th through Hells Headbangers, titled Genocidal Upheaval of Subservient Abrahamic Law. Give “IX Gods / IX Graves” a listen here.
• Let’s close out with In The Woods…, who I have long been a fan of. A new album is on the way, Otra, which will be out on April 11th through Prophecy Productions. A video for the first single, “A Misrepresentation of I”, can be seen below. I promise, it’s a good one.
