Back to the grind! Another Monday come and gone, and so too another day’s worth of metal news that emerged while Corey and I were doing our day jobs. Sigh. In any case, it’s time for Quickies! Here’s what we missed today:
- Another day, another bass-player-removal controversy. This time it’s King Diamond…and it’s getting ugly with now-former bassist Hal Patino.
- Remember Motograter? They’ve fallen so far that they now have to crowd-fund their appearance at a Battle of the Bands. I mean, when you’re shitty enough that even a moron like Ivan Moody wants no part…
- So now Under Armour actually is making inroads with the metal community. Sorry, Johan Hegg.
- Looks like Arsis, Allegaeon and Exmortus are going to be touring together this fall. Really pumped for that bill. Not quite so pumped for the NYC stop being on a Wednesday night. Brutal.
- So remember the petition to get Ghost to break up? Well, now there’s a petition to destroy that petition. I love the Internet.
- And last but not least, we’ve got some incontrovertible proof that Suicide Silence and puberty do not mix:
To be fair to this kid, there’s not a lot that Suicide Silence actually does mix with, so at least he’s got that going for him. But still, shades of “Unholy Confessions Unholy Cover” if ever I’ve seen them. Anyway, that’ll do it for today. Check back tomorrow for a new edition of Just the Tip!
