Another week… and a big week it will be here! More on that later. Today’s Quickies are already late, so let’s roll right into it:
- Talk about timing. Fresh off wrapping up their tour for Construct, Dark Tranquility (specifically vocalist Mikael Stanne) drop news that writing for a new album is next on the to-do list. Construct was a strong release, and the subsequent shows even stronger. I’ll be discussing the latter on this week’s Podcast. This is good news.
- All That Remains have released a new song called, and I shit you not, “This Probably Won’t End Well”. In all seriousness, that’s one of the worst song titles I’ve heard in a long time. The song itself is mediocre… which is about all we could hope for.
- Brent Hinds has been all over this blog today. Bam Margera has announced that the Mastodon guitarist will be playing the late Ryan Dunn in his upcoming movie, I Need Time to Stay Useless. Uncanny.
- Henry Derek Bonner, vocalist for Thrown Into Exile (formerly Scar The Martyr), was in a serious car accident. Fortunately, he was able to escape without serious injury, however they were forced to cancel a show. That’s about the best result of that situation you can hope for.
- You know who we don’t discuss much? Ensiferum. Well, here’s a fresh new track called “One Man Army”:
Despite the cheese factor, it’s quite tolerable. The new album, One Man Army, drops February 24th.
“Ein Bier… bitte.”
