It’s late. Let’s not talk about it. I’ve already had to push an album review back to tomorrow (HI, ARCTURUS!) so let’s just get into today’s Canto and be done with it. Here’s what we missed in the metal world today:
- Metalocalypse creator Brendon Small and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian will be doing a one-off performance of Dethklok’s entire Doomstar Requiem rock opera later this summer. This might just be a thing I need to do.
- Children of Bodom announced that they’ve parted ways with guitarist Roope Latvala. Which is probably something I would have been really upset about in 2003.
- Some kind of hilarious Dying Fetus news: a doctor in the Netherlands is really upset about the band’s name appearing on the Fortarock festival poster, because said doctor is a ninny.
- Megadeth bassist David Ellefson was doing some early cycle promo for the band’s upcoming album, and didn’t exactly give the new material a ringing endorsement. This will suck. Calling it now.
- And finally, Animals as Leaders released a video for one of the standout tracks off last year’s The Joy of Motion. Check out “Physical Education” below:
Good stuff. Anyway, weekend time. Go do your thing.
Keep it heavy,
Dan
