It’s new release Tuesday—time for another edition of Initial Descent! And — FINALLY! — a solid lineup of new stuff to dig into! (Feels like it’s been a while since we had one of those.) Anyway, here’s what we’ll be chatting about on this week’s podcast:

Paradise Lost – The Plague Within (Century Media)

Paradise Lost The Plague Within

Of course, the highest-profile release of the week is somehow not on U.S. Spotify. Because why should it be? For now, here’s where you can stream the album in full on YouTube. Though I wouldn’t bank on that being a long-term solution.

UPDATE: They added it. See below.

[full review]

Clouds Collide – All Things Shining (self-released)

Nekrogoblikon – Heavy Meta (Mystery Box)

Pyrrhon – Growth Without End (Handshake Inc.)

We’ll also have written reviews of other new and upcoming releases here on the site throughout the week, but for now, take a listen and check back later this week for our spoken thoughts on these in Episode 2!

Other New Releases of Note:

  • Maruta – Remain Dystopian (Relapse)
  • Armored Saint – Win Hands Down (Metal Blade)
  • Helloween – My God-Given Right (Nuclear Blast)
  • Skinless – Only the Ruthless Remain (Relapse)
  • Goatsnake – Black Age Blues (Southern Lord) [full review]
  • Cult of Endtime – In Charnel Lights (Svart) [full review]
