Before we kick off, it sounds like there’s some troubling news in the Insomnium camp. Let’s hope for the best there. Aside from that, here’s what we’ve got:
- I couldn’t kick things off any other way: Deafheaven have announced a tour this fall with Tribulation. You can be your ass I’m going to be there.
- You know what I’m even more excited about? Der Weg Einer Freiheit‘s first ever United States tour. And there’s a Boston date. Fuck I am so there!
- Since album sales show up on Tuesday now, let’s talk about Lamb of God, who had a great first week, approaching 50,000 units moved for VII: Sturm und Drang. Actually, it was the best opening week for any metal band this year.
- So this is the weird news of the day: Attila frontman Chris Fronzak is in hiding after apparently starting a riot. Well…okay then.
- Finally, I couldn’t close with anything other than the new Steel Panther music video for “Party Like Tomorrow is the End of the World”:
This special World of Playboy clip (because of course they’re doing something for Playboy) follows last year’s original version of the video. Those guys are just so much fun.
“Ein Bier… bitte.”
