Deftones

May 31, 2017

Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:

    • Leading off, Deftones have announced the Swerve City IPA — the band’s second collaboration with San Diego-based Belching Beaver Brewery. No idea how Deftones and beer go together, but “Swerve City” is one of my favorite tunes of theirs, so…worth a shot?

    • Venom Inc. — you know, the Cronos-free and thus infinitely less annoying version of Venom — has announced a fall tour with Goatwhore, Toxic Holocaust and The Convalescence.
    • This one’s a couple days old — sorry, I was at this thing called MDF — but Tribulation announced their new drummer. It’s Oscar Leander, formerly of Deathstars, who’ll be making his first official appearance as a member of the band tomorrow.
    • While Glenn Danzig‘s new album may, by many accounts, actually be pretty decent, his comprehension of politics still leaves juuuuust a bit to be desired…
    • In our latest edition of Journalismism: a couple of blogs have been pushing this quote from Converge frontman Jacob Bannon as being particularly telling about the band’s upcoming album, but…I dunno, it seems kind of innocuous to me? YOU DECIDE.
  • And finally, Vallenfyre are continuing their quest to have fans hear every song on their new album before it actually drops. Here’s another new one, called “Nihilist” for your listening pleasure:

Fear Those Who Fear Him is out this Friday via Century Media. Anyway, that’ll do it for now — check back this time tomorrow for our next edition!

Keep it heavy,
Dan
