playlist - mixtape

The 387th edition of the Nine Circles Playlist is sitting with a stack of CDs so high there is the distinct fear of bodily harm should they topple. From Wurmian to the damn Moody Blues; that’s how wide the genre gulf is. And while I’d love to include some “Nights In White Satin” (it’s truly a great piece of chamber pop) I’m going to stick to the template and kick this thing off with some lovely live progressive metal from the new Haken as well as some down in the dirt black metal from Svarta Havet, a band I never heard of until a few days ago and now can’t get enough of.

It’s a short list from the rest of the 9C crew, but there’s plenty to mine including the return of Gruesome moving up the Death discography and the welcome return of Kayo Dot; we’ve got remastered Spectral Lore and some gnarly, twisted metal from Altarage and supreme heavy from the forthcoming Fange album. We’ve sprinkled plenty of surprises in between as well so you know what to do…

Get listening. Stay safe. See you next week.

Chris
