April 7, 2017
Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:
- Leading off, condolences to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra family on the passing of founding member Paul O’Neill. Rest in peace, Paul.
- Based on this tweet they sent out yesterday, I mean, I can’t be sure, but it sure looks like Sleep are in the studio. Consider me enthused, to say the least.
- I guess this Nachtmystium thing might actually be happening? Mastermind Blake Judd has revealed his supporting cast for the band’s 2017 live dates. I don’t know who any of these people are, but…cool? Hope it works out for him. “It” being not just Nachtmystium stuff, but also his recovery.
- AWESOME TOUR ALERT: Neurosis have announced a summer trek with Converge and Amenra. You should get on this.
- Simon Söderberg — a former Nameless Ghoul in Ghost — posted a lengthy update to his Facebook page outlining more of the details of the suit against frontman Papa Emeritus. (Tobias Forge) This situation’s getting shittier by the minute.
- Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler has revealed that the band considered (/still is considering?) making a blues album to follow up 2013’s 13. If this happens, can the band members PLEASE adopt blues-style stage names? I’m thinking “Shred-Fingers Johnson” for Tony Iommi and…I dunno, “Teleprompter Jones” for Ozzy? Who says no?
- And finally, here’s a new song from Terror. Check out “No Love Lost” below:
The hardcore crew’s new EP, The Walls Will Fall, drops April 28. Anyway, that’ll do it for now — check back this time on Monday for our next edition!
Keep it heavy,
Dan
