Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:
-
- Leading off, longtime Amorphis bassist Niclas Etelävuori has left the band, citing not issues with his bandmates, but rather, issues with alleged mismanagement. The band has recruited original bassist Olli-Pekka Laine to fill in for their upcoming summer festival commitments.
-
- Don’t lose your heads, but Polish deathsters Decapitated appear to be working on a new album. September will mark three years since the band’s last album, Blood Mantra, so…about time!
-
- Good news! Khemmis will be releasing a split 7″ with Spirit Adrift. Gooder news! They’ll both be covering solo folk tunes. Pre-order it here, if that sounds like your thing.
-
- Here are the latest metal album sales numbers from Metal Insider. I don’t really know what the hell an Enterprise Earth is, but based on their album artwork, they seem to like Sauron, so…that’s neat?
-
- Obituary‘s been busy lately, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be slowing down any time soon. Guitarist Trevor Peres revealed the band is looking into a set of dates with Exodus following their summer festival commitments. Hopefully they stick to the old stuff?
- And finally, Full of Hell released a video for the title track from their upcoming album, Trumpeting Ecstasy. Check it out below:
The album drops May 5, via Profound Lore. Anyway, that’ll do it for now — check back this time on Monday morning for our next edition!
Keep it heavy,
Dan
