Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:
-
- Leading off, according to a Facebook post from Jimmy Bower, Eyehategod have begun recording a new album. From a 14-year wait between albums to…hell, we’re just over three removed from Eyehategod. Improvements!
-
- Guitar virtuoso Marty Friedman has announced a U.S. tour with Scale the Summit and something called The Fine Constant. I doubt he’ll play any of his Megadeth stuff, but this could still be fun. Scale the Summit rips, too.
-
- Aborted have announced a new 7″ EP called Bathos, which will drop via Century Media this summer. Those Belgians sure do like to stay busy, don’t they?
-
- Okay, just want to make sure I have this right: there are people out there other than Bam Margera who enjoy the band H.I.M., right? Maybe one or two? Well, good/bad news for that handful of you: the band’s announced the U.S. leg of their farewell tour.
-
- Speaking of tour-related things: Summer’s Laughter is holding a fan vote to see which band gets to open this year’s festivities. Necromancing the Stone or GTFO, y’all.
- And finally, Dying Fetus dropped a new song called “Die With Integrity,” the audio of which y’all can peep below:
The band’s new album, Wrong One to Fuck With, drops June 23 on Relapse. Anyway, that’ll do it for now — check back this time tomorrow for our next edition!
Keep it heavy,
Dan
