The 421st edition of the Nine Circles Playlist welcomes the new year with as much strength as it can muster. So to that end we’re keeping it brief: this playlist is comprised of tracks taken from our collective favorite Top 9 (get it?) albums of 2025. Not gonna tell you who picked what; you’ll have to find out when we post our annual “All-In” Best of 2025, coming to you soon.
What? You want a few names? Okay, how about one band from each of our writers? I still won’t tell you who, but maybe knowing there’s some Dreamwalker, Weft, Shedfromthebody, Asunojokei, The Nausea/Echthros, The Man-Eating Tree, Weeping Sores, Ancient Death, Malefic Throne, and Hexvessel? Not a bad bunch, and I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t any overlap in those picks.
