It’s Friday. Stay tuned for Episode 5 of the Horns Up Podcast followed by The Dump, coming at you bright and early tomorrow. Ya know, by the crack of noon.
Anyway, I’ve seen many, many review of Agalloch’s The Serpent and the Sphere but I’ve held firm. Only a few more days until I allow myself to listen to it. But, there are more things going on than my anticipation of this album. So, let’s get these Quickies out so that I can drink (more):
- Here’s a preview for Northmen: A Viking Saga, featuring Johan Hegg of Amon Amarth. So basically what we have here is a viking in a viking metal band playing a viking in a viking movie. I’ll end up seeing it because, well, vikings.
- You know who loves Heavy Devy? Everyone. Devin Townsend released come studio clips of guitar work for his upcoming double album.
- Phil Anselmo joined Zakk Wylde and the rest of BLS to play Pantera’s “I’m Broken” in Worcester last night. It would have been extremely convenient for me to attend this show. I didn’t.
- Ya know what’s funny? If it wasn’t for Stewart’s role in “Beavis and Butt-head” I probably wouldn’t even know who Winger is. And I definitely wouldn’t care. Either way, it seems Kip Winger and Mike Judge have made nice. How disappointing.
- GWAR is releasing bobblehead figures. Somehow I have not gotten on this yet. Needless to say, I need to get off my ass.
- Finally, “Buy it now before supplies last forever!”:
That parody is actually one of the better ones I’ve seen in awhile. Although you do need to (kinda) sit through Disturbed’s music. That’s it for this week’s Quickies. Have a good weekend.
Prost.
