CANTO: Enthroned, Terror Corpse, Sacred Leather, and More

This sure has been a long week. At least there’s a show to go to this weekend?

  • Long-running Belgian black metal crew Enthroned are releasing Ashspawn on December 5th through Season of Mist, and today they offered up the latest from their 12th album in the form of “Ashen Advocacy”.
  • Patriarchs in Black released their fourth album back in August through Metalville, a collection titled Home, and today they presented “I’m Coming Home” as a new single to follow it up. Check out the video for that here.
  • There are certain albums that will probably stick with me until the end of my days, and The Mantle is one of them. Needless to say, when I saw that Amiensus covered “The Lodge” I was immediately intrigued. I dig it.
  • Texas death metal trio Terror Corpse unleashed the new song “Pyre of Ash and Bone”, the opening track from their upcoming debut album Ash Eclipses Flesh. That’s out a week from Friday through Dark Descent Records.
  • If you want a dose of classic heavy metal today, allow me to present “Fallen Angel” from Sacred Leather. The video for it is below. Keep The Fire Burning is out on December 12th through King Volume Records and Wise Blood Records.

Donuts & CANTO: Shock Narcotic, Elbe, Patriarchs in Black, and More

After a pretty unrelenting work week, I had no interest in being near a computer last night. So donuts coffee and canto it is!

CANTO: Nails, Warmen, Wolfheart, and More

I wasn’t sure I was ever going to pry myself away from my desk tonight.

  • We’ll start with Nails, who revealed new album details and a refreshed lineup. Every Bridge Burning will be out on August 30 through Nuclear Blast, and it will feature Carlos Cruz (Warbringer), Andrew Solis (Despise You, Apparition), and Shelby Lermo (Ulthar). Give “Imposing Will” a listen here.
  • Mac Sabbath announced a 10 year anniversary tour, which is fun. The dates are all in August, kicking off in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Get the full scoop on their website.
  • Finnish melodic metallers Wolfheart released a new digital single titled “Grave”. That’s the leading single from their new album, Draconian Darkness, which is out on September 6 through Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM).
  • Doom metallers Patriarchs in Black revealed the second track from their next album, Visioning. Give “Welcome to Hell Again” a listen here.
  • Let’s put this Monday on ice and wrap up with the new animated video from Warmen. The clip for “A World of Pain” is below, a track taken from last year’s Here For None. You can pick that album up here if you still need it.

CANTO: Monument of Misanthropy, DVRK, Baest, and More

Looks like it will be a quieter start to this week. I’m not entirely complaining.

  • Brutal death metal sounds like a good way to kick off the new week. Monument of Misanthropy announced a new serial-killer themed album, Vile Postmortem Irrumatio, which is based on Ed Kemper. That will be out on August 9 through Transcending Obscurity Records, and a video for “A Nice Beheading For MoM” is available here.
  • Baest shared a new track with a video, titled “Imp of the Perverse”, which features footage from recent headlining shows in Aarhus and Copenhagen. They have a pretty dope European run with Benighted and Coffin Feeder lined up, but those dates aren’t until November.
  • German thrashers Battlecreek released an animated music video for “Granville’s Hammer”, which features Philly Byrne of Gama Bomb. That track is taken from Maze Of The Mind, which is out through MDD Records.
  • And next, a touch of doom. Patriarchs in Black revealed the first track from Visioning, titled “What Do They Know? (For The Champions)”. Their third album drops on July 19 through Metalville Records.
  • We’ll close this roundup with the new video from DVRK for “Breathless”. That’s the second single taken from their upcoming debut EP. Infinite Reminiscence arrives on June 7 through Season of Mist.
