CANTO: Battle Born, Tetrarch, Vola, and More

Coming at you late because, yes, I am the worst (loaded commentary). Yay!

Opening up with Battle Born. The UK power metallers shared a new single, “Metal and Steel” (ok, first off, that’s hilarious), along with a music video. This arrives ahead of their upcoming tour in support of Tailgunner. Find those dates on your own.
Tetrarch dropped their first single in a few years, titled “Live Not Fantasize”, through Napalm Records. Check out the video for that here. Yeah, I don’t have any further commentary beyond that. Have fun.
Something involving Anders Fridén? You know I’m in. Vola revealed a new single titled “Cannibal”, with the In Flames front man as a guest vocalist. Friend Of A Phantom is out on November 1 through Mascot Records.
Immortal Bird are releasing Sin Querencia on October 18 through 20 Buck Spin. If you know this blog, you know there are a whole lot of good words in that sentence. “Plastered Sainthood” and “Bioluminescent Toxins” can be heard here.
Generally speaking, when Imperial Triumphant releases new things, we share it. So, on that note, the video for “Eye of Mars” is below, released through Century Media.

Today was a little more tame, which is all I can ask for.

King Woman has set July 30th as the release date for the highly anticipated sophomore album, Celestial Blues. That will be out through Relapse Records, and is available for pre-order here. Check out the clip for “Morning Star” while you’re at it.
Red Fang have announced a U.S. tour, scheduled for this coming October and November. Support will be provided by Starcrawler, Here Lies Man, and Warish. I will definitely be attending this one, because Red Fang is awesome… and even more awesome live. And a reminder, Arrows is out this Friday, also through Relapse.
Atreyu has also announced a fairly massive U.S. tour this coming November and December. They’ll be supported by Tetrarch, Crown The Empire, Saul, and Defying Decay. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday, but there’s always a pre-sale code for those that want it.
We have a couple videos worth sharing today (subjective), and we’ll start with Vreid. They dropped the clip for “Dazed and Reduced”, which is taken from the recently released Wild North West, out through Season of Mist.
And we’ll close with the video from Burning Witches. The Witch Of The North is out now through Nuclear Blast, and the new video for “We Stand As One” is available immediately below.

I don’t even know where to start today, there is so much going on.

We knew this was coming, but at least we have something specific to talk about now. At The Gates have officially announced that their new album, The Nightmare Of Being, will be released on July 2nd through Century Media Records. Pre-orders won’t start until the end of the month, however, so we’ll keep this on our radar until then.
This Roadburn Redux keeps getting better. This was somewhat hinted at, but now we have confirmation that there will be a “Pelagic Presents” segment that will feature performances by The Ocean, Crown, Year of No Light, and more. Cannot wait for this.
Thy Catafalque, the project that never takes a break (not a complaint), has announced a new album slated for a June 25th release. Vadak, the tenth album in the library, will be available through Season of Mist. Check out the first single and video, “Piros-sárga”, right now.
Tetrarch released a pretty damn heavy new single and video today, titled “Negative Noise”, so we can close with that. That track is taken from Unstable, which is out on April 30th through Napalm Records.

Vinyl mail day! Now playing: Steve Von Till – No Wilderness Deep Enough. No on to the day’s links!

Mörk Gryning dropped the first track, “Fältherren”, from Hinsides Vrede. That album drops on October 23rd through Season of Mist and marks their first studio full-length since 2005. Dang.
Tetrarch have signed on to a worldwide deal with Napalm Records. This is in advance of their sophomore album, Unstable. This is awesome news for a fast-rising group. Good for them.
Rotting Christ have shared their full performance from EMFA. That was performed and recorded on July 6th at Artworks Studio. Check out the full 49 minute show right here.
