CANTO: Zeal & Ardor, Oranssi Pazuzu, Orbit Culture, and More

Alright, I’m going to write this as fast as I can so I can get to my deck (and a beer) as soon as humanly possible. Yay Friday. Yay long weekend.

  • I know I’ve been anticipating this announcement for some time. Anyone else? Oranssi Pazuzu revealed a new single today titled “Muuntautuja”. A new album is coming on October 11… and you know we’ll be ready for more details as they emerge.
  • After a 20 year absence, Tsatthoggua have returned and are preparing for the release of their surprise comeback album through Osmose Productions. We Are God will be here next week (!!!), but right now you can check out “Master Morality”.
  • Orbit Culture are on the road with Slipknot for a good chunk of August, we knew that much. But they’ve also announced a run of headlining dates around that tour. The full schedule can be found here.
  • Let’s sprinkle in some doom. Golgotha unveiled a new single and video, titled “Human Vultures”. That’s the second track taken from Spreading the Wings of Hope, which is out June 14 through Ardua Music.
  • Of COURSE we’re ending with the new one from Zeal & Ardor. Check out “Clawing Out” below. As a reminder, Grief is out on August 23. Preorder it here.

CANTO: Slipknot, Mizmor, In Flames, and More

The evening forecast: playoff hockey and death metal. And beer. Always beer.

  • Tours! First, Slipknot is celebrating 25 years with an arena tour that will also include Knocked Loose,
Orbit Culture, and Vended, depending on the leg. That all kicks off on August 6, and tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday.
  • Next, Mizmor announced an upcoming North American tour as well, where they’ll be joined by Amarok and Tithe… depending on the dates. Those are all in July, and tickets can be acquired here.
  • In Flames is about to embark on their U.S. tour, which I’m super excited to attend myself, and today they announced anniversary vinyl reissues for Lunar Strain, Colony, Soundtrack To Your Escape, and Siren Charms. Grab one or all of them here.
  • Ok, what else we got? Umbra Vitae shared a video for “Velvet Black”, a track taken from their sophomore LP Light Of Death. That’s out on June 7 through Deathwish.
  • And finally, Neaera dropped a new video and single titled “Pacifier”, which is how we’re going to end our Tuesday. The German metalcore crew are celebrating their 20th year with the release of All Is Dust, set for a June 28 release through Metal Blade.

CANTO: Ingested, The Offering, At The Gates, and More

I’m drafting this in the middle of the afternoon, while contemplating a beer. Not great.

  • We’ll lead off with The Offering, who dropped a new track titled “Flower Children”. The lyric video for that one is available here. Their sophomore album, titled Seeing the Elephant, is set for a November 4th release through Century Media.
  • Liturgy has announced a new album as well, but we’ll have to wait until March 23rd for that one. 93696 will be out through Thrill Jockey, and you can listen to the title-track right here. They’ve also got some upcoming tour dates if that interests you.
  • At The Gates have announced the return of founding member and guitarist Anders Björler. This announcement falls about a month ahead of their upcoming European tour with In Flames, Imminence, and Orbit Culture.
  • From there, we’ve got a new video from Anti-Flag for “Modern Meta Medicine”, which features Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage). Lies They Tell Our Children is out on January 6th via Spinefarm.
  • Let’s close out the day with a new video from Ingested. The clip below is for “From Hollow Words”, which features Sven de Caluwé of Aborted. That’s taken from Ashes Lie Still, set for a November 4th release through Metal Blade.
